2005 Could be Landmark for VoIP, Integrated Services
US
Instat: Survey indicated plans to purchase emerging telecom services, such as VoIP services and Integrated Access Services, in the next 12 months.. The conditions are right for increasing adoption of integrated access services and other IP services in this lucrative market of firms with over 1,000 employees. However, the a la carte play - selling each service individually - does not appear to be the right approach, at least not according to survey respondents. Purchasing services individually will resonate with some customers, however, it appears that more decision-makers are interested in purchasing IP services in tandem with integrated access. So, 2005 marks the rise of the "solution" sell. Responses regarding plans to purchase VoIP and Integrated Access Services were more than double the percentage of respondents for each who indicated that they "don't currently use and don't plan to purchase in the next 12 months. Doesn’t seem to be a better value than the separate voice and data services used today" was the reason cited most often for not using Integrated Access Services. The key drivers for IP services are security, the need to connect remote workers, and the need to support employee collaboration.
