Analysys International: server shipments in China reached 134,000 units in the first quarter of 2006, representing a decrease of 2.8% from the first quarter of 2005, and the market value reached RMB 4.51 billion- In the first quarter of 2006, shipments of servers priced below RMB 20,000 and between RMB 20,000 – 50,000 increased in Chinese marketplace. Unit shipments of x86 servers reached 129,000, accounting for 96.2% of the total market. Unit shipments of RISC servers reached 5000, down 0.1% from the fourth quarter of 2005. Threatened by dual-core IA processor servers, RISC market faces great challenges from various aspects including technology and price.

Hewlett-Packard, Dell and IBM kept leading China's server market, with shipment reaching 23.5%, 21.2% and 19.1% respectively. In terms of market value, IBM and HP ranked the top 2, accounting for 38.8% and 23.5% respectively of the total market value. Both IBM and HP occupied a high market share in government, telecom and finance industries.
