RNCOS: In 2005, IT security market worldwide, the revenue generated from the sale of VPN/firewall hardware and software increased by a mere two percent between the second quarter but leapfrogged to attain a growth rate of 15 percent with a market size of $845 Mn in the third quarter of the same year.

Based on market trends and figures, it is expected that the global IT security market annual sales in the sector will grow to $3.8 Bn by 2007. VPN and firewall appliances make up for 80 per cent of all VPN/firewall hardware revenue while software and SSL VPNs accounts for 12 percent and three percent of the overall VPN/firewall market.
