ighting spam continues to be a top priority for businesses in 2006, despite the broad range of anti-spam products available today.E-mail archiving is also a top priority for businesses in 2006. This is expected to be a lucrative market, since 39% of respondents indicated that they have plans to deploy an email archiving system in the near future.
With the recent release of IBM Lotus Domino 7 and the upcoming release of MS Exchange 2007, upgrading messaging software is also high on the priority list for many
businesses. 83% of survey respondents are either in the process of upgrading, or plan to upgrade their messaging software within the next 18 months.
The size of e-mail messages and the volume of e-mail traffic increased at a rapid pace in 2006. These factors will combine to drive up corporate bandwidth and storage
requirements by 61% in 2006.
Demand for Instant Messaging continues to be strong. 87% of survey respondents indicated that they use IM at work, and 71% of respondents indicated that their organization uses a sanctioned IM product. Only 10% of respondents indicated that their organization uses an IM management solution, however.
